Four Things To Do With Old Magazines
Got old magazines that you have lying around the place? Looking to add more magazines to the huge rack that you have growing in the living room and bedroom? You may want to start moving them around for space. And if you don't want to throw them away, then here are some things you can do to make way for newer issues that you plan on subscribing to.
• Sell – Yes, you may not want to throw away magazines. And why should you when you can still earn a buck or two by selling them to somebody else? Not all magazines are quick to sell but if you have some magazines that have intriguing topics then you might just have buyers who will shell out some money for them. Go through your magazines and ask yourself which ones were most valuable to you for the longest time. Make sure that the ones you are selling are still in the best condition otherwise they will not be worth anything. You can set up your own garage sale for the magazines or you can go down to the flea market and sell them to someone who can sell them for you. Whatever the case, think twice before just throwing your old magazines into the waste basket. That act itself is a waste.
• Trade – If you have magazines and know someone who has just as large a collection as yours, you may want to have some fun and swap magazines with that person. Much like trading cards and collectibles, you can do the same with magazines. Trade for magazines that you haven't read before or maybe there was an issue that you missed that your friend has. This is not only a great way to save money on spending for magazines but it is also a keen way of making new friends who may have the same interests as you have.
• Recycle – Okay, perhaps you don't have any magazines of value to anyone and nobody will buy them. But instead of throwing them in the trash, think of recycling them so you can reuse the materials they are made of for something else. The paper can be used for a child's art project or even your own. You can also use that paper to line certain areas of the house that you might be repairing or painting. Think you might need to do some paper mache? Well, all those old magazines are a great source of paper that you will need to make the mixture. Think of all the different things that you can do with magazine paper before you get rid of it.
• Give away – The sure fire way to make way for newer magazines? Give your old ones away. There are so many places who will appreciate this gesture and people love to read things they may have never read before. Know of a shelter or clinic that needs some reading materials? Then donate your old magazines to those places.
