Four Ways To Sell Your Magazine
Have you started your own magazine? Or are you looking to distribute magazine titles to customers? There are different ways to sell magazines and you don't have to have a store front to do so. It all depends on how interesting the magazine you have really is. So before you start to sell a magazine, make sure that it is filled with topics that people are interested in. If you have that all down pat, then you can start to sell your magazines in one or more of the following ways.
• Out of your house – You can actually start selling your magazine or other magazine titles to your neighbors and friends. This is a great place to start since you don't have to rent the space and storage won't be much of a problem unless you are selling by the truckload. But for a starter distribution, your house should be the best place to sell your stuff. You will also be able to have a loyal customer base, namely your neighbors and friends but only if you are selling something that is of use to them. Try this out for a while until you find another way to sell your magazines.
• On the Internet – This is the best place to get connected to a wider audience. You can sell just about anything on the internet and you have a worldwide reach as well. Of course, you will need to control your selling activities because if you can't ship your magazines or don't know how, then you will definitely stand the chance of losing a market before you even gain it. Still, the internet can be advantageous in many ways. You can scan some pages of your magazines and put them up as a preview that will entice people to buy them. Remember to not make the mistake of uploading a whole scanned magazine to your site or wherever you are selling. Otherwise people will think you are just giving them away for free.
• Rent a space – Now, you may not need your own store to sell magazines but if you rent a small space inside a convenience store, record store, or supermarket, you can actually increase your sales. This is because people go into places like those just mentioned. By making your product visible, you can invite more sales in your direction. Of course, you may have to pay a little of the profit to the store that is allowing you to sell your magazines but that is a small sacrifice if you get a lot more people buying your product.
• Word of mouth – Nothing is more powerful than word of mouth. Tell people to tell their friends about the magazines that you are selling. You can even tell kids at school to tell their friends. By passing along the news that you are selling great magazines, more and more people will contact you to make a straight purchase. You can never go wrong with the word of mouth strategy.
