Four Types Of Articles Found Inside A Magazine
Have you ever thought about what separates the magazines from your old dusty books? There are a lot of answers to that question. One is that magazines are colourful and lively unlike books which are only filled with a lot of words. It is less serious (well this would actually depend on the type of magazine) but most magazines are rarely serious. Magazines are always updated; you always discover something new when you read magazines and you don't have to wait for years for that something new to come along.
Magazines may be interesting simply because you can relate to some articles. It may be interesting because the advice columns have somehow helped you. Magazines are all about life and the events that took place. There are magazines that can even help you to reflect on your past deeds; think about the things you have done. There are magazines that can help you improve your fashion eye or help you improve the way you dress. All these things happen because magazines contain well written articles. There are a lot of articles in a magazine some of which are briefly discussed below.
1. Biography. Some magazines feature a particular personality and an article is written about him or her. The article is usually written the same way a biography is written; only difference is that it is shorter. The article usually contains a brief description of that individual's childhood, his road to success and of course some of the hardships and endeavours he had to overcome. It is written in such a way that will inspire those who are reading it.
2. How To articles. You usually find this kind of articles in home keeping magazines or interior designing magazines but you can also find this on fashion magazines. It is usually about putting on makeup and mix and matching clothes. This type of article is written to look like or feel like a step by step guide. The steps are usually bulleted or numbered. It usually depicts a process of creating or making something like how to landscape your garden, how to put on eye shadow or how to arrange flowers. These articles are very helpful especially when it is about doing something with your house or garden.
3. First Hand or Personal Experiences. Some magazines do contain this type of articles. The content of this article is usually about an extraordinary experience be it joyful or tragic. These articles are usually tearjerkers especially if it talks about some tragic experiencing like losing a child or getting into an accident. This article is usually written in the first person point of view especially if the author is the one who underwent that particular experience.
4. Interview. This looks more like a transcript. The questions and answers are written verbatim meaning word for word. There is little narration in this type of article. The main topic is usually discussed as the interview progresses. The questions are asked in a particular manner. This type of article is usually done when interviewing a famous celebrity or an icon.
There are still other types of articles found on magazines. These articles make each magazine issue unique and interesting.
